Dohee Kwon (권도희) is a Korean artist based in Thailand. The idea for Dear Me developed along with her growing interest in mindfulness throughout 2020.
In Dear Me, Kwon powerfully combines words and visuals to lead the reader through a meditational practice. The book acts as an interactive object, which can be held and paged through to conjure a greater sense of awareness and presence. It begins with an illustrated deep breathing exercise and continues into a series of guided affirmations. Each affirmation is accompanied by Kwon’s signature graphics to further enhance its meaning.
Each copy comes with an insert in Korean, to allow the reader to follow along in either language.
Dohee Kwon (권도희)는 태국에 기반을 둔 한국인 아티스트이다. Dear Me에 대한 아이디어는 2020년을 지나오면서 마음챙김에 대한 그녀의 관심이 증가함에 따라 발전했다.
Dear Me에서 권 작가는 명상 연습을 통해서 독자들을 안내하기 위해 단어들과 비주얼을 강력하게 결합한다. 이 책은 인터랙티브 객체의 역할을 하며, 더 큰 인식과 존재감을 불러일으키기 위해 페이지를 넘기게 된다. 그림으로 그린 심호흡 운동으로 시작하여 긍정적 사고로 인도하는 시리즈로 이어진다. 각 긍정적 사고에는 권 작가의 시그니처 그래픽이 곁들여져 그 의미를 더욱 더한다.
각 판본에는 독자들이 영어 또는 한국어로도 이해할 수 있도록 한국어가 첨부되어 있다.
